• Cosmetic Dentistry

A beautiful smile not only looks good but improves how you feel about yourself. Cosmetic dentistry allows you to have the smile of your dreams. Modern cosmetic procedures allow those dreams to come true.

    • Tooth Whitening (Bleaching) We offer 3 options to brighten up your smile.

      Take Home Tray Whitening
A popular option for many of our patients, take home tray bleaching is safe, easy and simple to complete comfortably at home. We make custom trays from molds of your teeth to maximize the effectiveness of the special whitening gel. The gel comes in several strengths and treatment time is generally 2-3 weeks.

      In Office Whitening
You can achieve a brighter smile with only 1-2 short visits with our in office whitening procedure. This option is usually best for patients who wish to lighten their teeth in a short period of time. The appointment involves a few simple steps including protection of your gums, application of a high strength bleaching gel and activation with a special light.

      Take Home Professional Strength Strips
While not as effective as other bleaching options, these strips are more economical and very easy to use. A thin strip impregnated with a bleaching gel is formed over the teeth and left in place for 1-2 hours. Tooth lightening occurs in as few as 5 days of use. Though whitening is very effective for most patients, it won’t work on certain types of stains, discolorations, or restorations. During your exam we will be able to tell you if bleaching is right for you and discuss your options for getting a dazzling smile.

    • Porcelain Veneers

Some of the most dramatic improvements in a patient’s smile can be achieved in a short period of time with porcelain veneers. These thin sculpted layers of porcelain are applied to the front of the teeth. Veneers can be used to improve the color and shape of one or more of your teeth, lengthen small or misshapen teeth, or whiten stained teeth. They can be used to correct crowding, repair chipped or worn teeth, or to replace composite bonding.

It generally takes two visits to restore your teeth with veneers. On the first appointment, your teeth are shaped and roughened. From impressions, precise working models are made of your teeth. It’s on these models that the veneers are crafted to the exact dimensions of your teeth.

On the second appointment, a special adhesive is used to bond the veneers to your teeth. A harmless, high intensity light hardens the adhesive. Once bonded in place the veneers virtually become part of your teeth. Since porcelain is harder than tooth enamel it resists staining and wear. Because the bond is very strong, you can use them like you would your own teeth.

Dr. Schabes uses da Vinci Studios® to fabricate his porcelain veneers, one of the premier cosmetic labs in the United States. The final result is a more beautiful and natural looking smile.

    • Tooth Bonding

If your teeth have small gaps, are crooked, short, chipped, stained, decayed or broken, bonding may be able to instantly fix your problem.

After treating the tooth surface, we apply a putty like composite resin made from porcelain and plastic, which is then sculpted and shaped to your tooth. A high intensity light causes the composite to harden after which the new surface is smoothed and polished. Since we have over 39 different shades of composite hues along with numerous tints, the restorations blend beautifully with your natural teeth.
